Dr. Isla Arcaro
Veterinarian
Dr. Isla Arcaro is a board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist whose interest in veterinary medicine began at just nine years old. Her path into the profession started in hands-on roles as a kennel assistant, veterinary technician, and eventually an ICU supervisor. Each position gave her a deeper understanding of patient care and the teamwork involved in helping animals through serious illness and complex procedures.
After returning to veterinary school, Dr. Arcaro discovered a strong interest in anesthesia during her internship. As one mentor observed, her enthusiasm was clear every time the subject came up. She went on to complete a residency in Anesthesia and Analgesia at the University of Illinois and later gained additional experience at a busy referral hospital in Pittsburgh.
With more than a decade of experience across specialty practices, academia, and general veterinary hospitals, Dr. Arcaro has developed a collaborative, practical approach to anesthesia care. She is also deeply motivated by the growing cost of veterinary medicine and the challenges families may face in accessing specialty services. Her goal is to help make advanced anesthesia care more accessible while supporting safe, thoughtful treatment for every patient.
